I thought Padme was a good strong character until she all of a sudden 'lost the will to live' at the end there--talk about COMPLETELY out of character. For that reason, I'll have to go with Leia.

LEIA all the freaking way. Padme was a weak character... she gave up on her standards just because of this one guy. Leia held to them and was willing to remain single rather than be involved with a guy who (at the time) she thought was a jerk.

Leia had better lines of dialogue.
"Will somebody get this big walking carpet out of my way!"
"Gov. Tarkin... I should have realized you'd be the one holding Vader's leash. I recognized your foul stench when I was brought on board."
What does Padme have?
Padme to lil Anakin "You're a slave?"
Anakin to Padme "I'm a person! And my name's Anakin!"
Yeah, you tell her, small fry.
