The Clerk and Recorder should have a record of everyone that owned the house since it was built. Check with that office first unless you live in town and then its most likely the Tax Assessor or similiar office. Once you have the names of the owner, check the U.S. Census results for your town and address - it should list who lived there.

Go to your public library, the Records section. You might ask the librarian for similar resources.

If your home is paid for, look on the abstract for names. Maybe you could research at a local newspaper, articles, obits, etc.
