I hate expending the points to ask this, but I really want to know. What is the difference between diet coke and coke zero? Is it really just a re-launch because men and some teens are put off by anything with the term 'diet' in it? Or is it a different drink? If so, why?

Coke Zero tastes completly different to Diet Coke. It was designed to compete with Pepsi max in the way that it is supposed to taste like regular Coke, only without the sugar. Only die hard Diet Coke fans such as myself would probably taste the difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke...but it really doesn't taste like regular Coke either. Its really just a promotional gimmick to boost sales and geared towards men I would think??

It contains one different e number to Diet Coke otherwise it is the same. There was a spokesperson on Radio 5 Live from Coca Cola the other day and he said exactly what you have asked. It was marketed to appeal to men and get them away from the stigma of diet drinks.

Another mind F*** from the coke company. I bet they are laughing at the gullible souls filling up their Bank accounts that their sides are hurting. Not content to unleash "diet" coke(Please!) they have come up with another scam. Do people know that if they drink half a can of coke, it would contain half the calories, half the sugar and half the other gunge? Obviously not. Greedy!

I tried it when the supermarket ran out of 'Pepsi Max'. I think it is intended to compete with Pepsi Max because it is not as tasteless as diet coke. Still no contest - Pepsi Max is best for flavour.

you are right it is just a marketing idea because men generally will not buy things with diet in the title. the ingredients are almost identicle but they each have one different chemical which has similar properites.
