Robert, in Pa there is a small business site where you just do it online, perhaps there is something like that for Ohio. I do know that usually you have to purchase a permit to use a fictious name for your biz, I think that costs around seventy five dollars, but if you name your business with your name in it, like say your last name was Johnson, so you would name it Johnson's Roofing and Siding, then you do not need a fictitious name permit. Anyway if you look up OHio small business you might be able to do it online, I did mine instantly. In the mean time I am going to surf to see if I can find a link for you. Good luck.

This may help. Also, I wanted to tell you to look into forming an LLC before getting your license, it will be a good thing should you ever have anyone sue you...

The first thing you need to start a business, small or otherwise, is a lot of money. Without operating expenses for the first three to five years, you won't be able to keep a business afloat, much less make money on it.

I as quickly as owned a small enterprise, fortuitously for me my dad and mom funded the start up expenses for me, have you ever tried asking somebody for a funds own loan? Write up a criminal binding settlement inform you relatives/pals whoever loans you the money you will take care of it as i classic own loan. in case you haven't any longer any success there ring the Small enterprise Centre an get your questions spoke back there, ask approximately government investment and supplies that would desire to be available to you. yet my perfect suggestion is that in case you haven't any longer have been given the money then you definately do no longer elect to start a enterprise,(and that speaking from adventure)reason as i learnt that in case you will desire to borrow the money and it is real while they are asserting that ninety 4.35% of first enterprise proprietors do bypass BANKRUPT interior the 1st 2 YEARS then you definately alter into screwed for existence. Or a minimum of the subsequent 7 years while you interior the act of financial disaster. think of of different strategies like partnerships and investors first, if no longer then do as all of us do and artwork no longer trouble-free AND save!!!
