My fiance and I were not trying to have a baby, we only recently had unprotected sex 3 times after my period. But if its true that it takes 9 months then how would I be pregnant?

It is called an average. The average fertile couple actually can take up to a year to get pregnant. Count your blessings. You have been blessed.

It takes 9 months from conception to HAVE a baby and it CAN take up to a year or more to conceive one. On the other hand, it only necessarily takes one act of unprotected intercourse if it's timed right.

Either you confused the length of time that a pregnancy lasts with how long it takes to conceive, or you misunderstood the nature of an average. If it takes an average of 9 months for all couples to conceive, that means next to nothing when applied to any individual couple (as you now know the hard way!)

I don't know who told you it takes 9 months to get pregnant but when you were growing up didn't anyone tell you it only takes one time. If he ejaculates in you while you are ovulating (which would be about 2 weeks after your period) you have a very good chance of concieving, which you did. Your question should not be how did I get pregnant you know how that happened.

Sorry hun it only takes 1 time to get pregnant. The whole 9 month to concieve thing is just statistics but it is not true for everybody.

That is a lie. It does not take that long. Where the confusion may come in is that doctors like couples to try to conceive for at least this long before assuming they cannot and trying to get fertility treatments. It does not take that long. It takes 9 months to gestate a pregnancy and give birth. How old are you? I think you may be too young to have sex if you believe that.

It takes 9 months to concieve the child after the sperm has made it to the egg. It does not take 9 months to get pregnant. You can get pregnant from having unprotected sex 1 time.

My husband and I got pregnant the first month that we tried. it doesn't really make sense to say it takes 9 months, it only takes 1x. If you have no medical problems that woud prevent you from having a baby, and know about ovulation, then you should get pregnant within a couple of months.

think of of 9 months up 9 months down as a generalization. no longer a biblical reality. it extremely is that in case you're looking after your self. i substitute into between the few lady that actual weighed much less after being pregnant then i did till now i've got been given pregnant contained in the 1st place. (i'd provide up ingesting the 2nd the toddler moved from sleep) however the rule of thumb is to no longer be stressful on your self a minimum of the 1st 6 months after the toddler is born. or you'llchronic your self loopy over the extra weight.

You know you answer your own question. Unprotected sex. As long as you are fertile you can get pregnant and it doesn't really matter how many days it was after your period. Congrats on a normal and healthy baby.
