I'm so tired of hearing that we "created" the terrorists. People say they don't like us having a presence in the middle east - i.e. military bases in Saudi Arabia, oil companies, etc. Why does that give them the right to kill innocent people? Other people in the middle east DO want us there. So, if a minority group of radical Islamists don't get their way, that somehow justifies their attacks against innocent people?
Imagine you buy a house and move into a new neighborhood with people of a different race than you. A couple families down the street come over and kill your family. Everyone then says, "They souldn't have moved to that neighborhood. It's their own fault".

Alexsandr - yes, we trained and equipped the mujahadeen to fight the communists. But, we have helped many people fight a common enemy. If those you aided then turn on you, then THEY are to blame.

I understand many peoples' opinion that "if you play with fire you get burned". But hindsight is 20/20. At the time, in the 1970s, the threat of imperial communism was the immediate danger with no end in sight. At the time, we didn't know the Berlin wall would fall in 1989 and that the USSR would no longer exist after 1991.

The terrorist strikes of 9-11 were horrible and not deserved. This was a plot by Al Quaeda.
The creating more terrorists argument goes like this: there always were terrorists in the middle east, but Bush handled this problem improperly, and has created more terrorists not fewer. His foreign policy of invading and occupying Iraq, pulling out of the Israel-Palestine peace process, allowing Israel to continue the bombing of Lebanon for 34+ days, and threatening Syria and Iran has created more terrorists.
When it comes to occupation and even having military bases over there, moving into a new neighborhood is not really an apt analogy. Middle easterners see American presence as a type of colonial occupation. Parts of the middle east were indeed occupied by the Turks, French, the British, and the Israelis at different times during the 20th century, and the people there have very long memories and some knowledge of history. Also, Bush's rhetoric lately makes it sound as if the US is engaging in a new crusade, an all out war on Islams. It's only logical that this can inspire young men to fight the US, over there and over here.

The shrub and his seedlings believe they are preparing the world for Jesus and a bible based democracy. The goal is by any means.
Why would they not give fate a push in the areas of the world that have biblical christian geography? If that's what it takes to get the ball rolling, so what? Good men die in battle, and innocent lives are lost. That's how religious history works, right? One or the other God is bigger and badder than the other...or who's army is going to come in and save our butts?
So, when george hears the voices, it's got to be his God telling him to fulfill prophesy, right? That's why he has to "stay the course". Damn the facts of failure on the battlefield, and that the only thing in Baghdad that has been completed and fully funded was the the largest armed to the teeth compound, the new American embassy. Oh that wouldn't piss off any day to day Iraqi citizen who would like their kids to have a working toilet, warm water for a bath, and not be afraid of even looking at an American for fear of being blown to bits. Death has the same face, whether it's by abduction in the night, or taking candy from a soldier in front of neighbors.
Does anyone believe that one more chorus of "Onward Christian Soldier" is going to change anything?

Yes I see what your saying ! Remember, just about close to a month ago when a Journalist asked President Bush about (Diplomacy)?... and Bush's answer was that- - - - - Diplomacy takes a long time to happen... Well, it took the other Bush President... Bush's Father a long time for Diplomacy as well as the current President Bush.... I was shocked by Bush's Answer because, it makes some People Wonder just why in the (Hell) do we have (Diplomats) to begin with...We must have better (Diplomats in our United States) than the ones that already take too long to get Diplomatic... Hate is a (Spiteful Word) & maybe some People are just not understanding what really goes on between the lines of Politics & Goverment.... We need better Diplomats to have a Safer World than the one's we already have. rumeoui !

You're missing the point. We organized, trained, armed and paid these militant fundamentalist groups to fight the Communists, and never did anything to stabilize the middle east after the wall came down. This is why we are blamed for creating the terrorists... it doesn't give them a right to attack us or anyone else, but once you create a militant group of this nature it will continue operating and find new enemies... sure people who joined it against one enemy will leave, but there will be people, career militants, who keep the group together and unite it against new enemies.. and the longer they exist, the crazier they become.
Their origen is historical. And it's pretty obvious when you see them, using both AK-47s and old M-16s left over from our conflict with Russia... along with those RPGs
I pointed out that it's not RIGHT that they attack us anyway... but I wanted to answer your question by telling you why people say the U.S. created the terrorists. And keep in mind that we created these organizations, and then just left them there without doing anything to disband them, and it was a mistake that came back and bit us in the ath

Anyone who claims that we (as in the U.S.) have had a hand in generating terrorists is either a complete fool or a pathological liar...
Just a brief perusal of the last forty years of history will show anyone with at least two working neurons that the terrorist towel heads were a collection of self-starting sociopaths for a very long time... Centuries in fact...
Then again many people are the, "victims" of the modern American public school education system so its not to suprising after years of brain washing with revisionist history pushed by socialist lib-tards that we now have the marching morons whining about the war...

I have no idea why Americans turn on each other,,, the only reason I can think of is... that what they believe is less important than belief itself..... which is exactly what the terrorists believe,,, God vs Allah,,,, can't we just all agree that our country should be protected,, secured and yes defended,,, the ways to succeed at this should continued to be given to our elected leaders,,, hopefully after November 7Th,, Americans will calm down and accept the will of the people,,,,,, those who lie, steal and cheat should be prosecuted,,, or government should continue to search the world for Osama bin Laden responsible for the attacks of 9-11.

Oh wow your whole question is so misguided it would be pointless to even try. You obviously have your own mistaken ideas on this. Its not just that they dont want us there. We funded and created al queada in the seventies.we gave them weapons and money to fight russia then left them hanging. The taliban has ruled afghanistan for years and let the taliban live there, it was other middle eastern countries that wanted, ah **** it this is totally pointless. Its just that some people take the time to read the history of the world and the history of what america has done to this world and some people dont.So if you would just please look up the russian afghan war, the creation of the taliban, al queada, and saddam getting his sanctions lifted that would be great mhmm, thanks.Oh and while you are at look up the brutal israeli attacks on palestine.

... well NO terrorist attack is justified in my opinion...
but your example is horribly naive... a much more accurate example would be that if you moved into a neighborhood where people have been killing each other for thousands of years and you move in and give one side of people guns, missiles, tanks and much more...
now, I don't think that that justifies a person to come in and kill your family, but you can understand a lot more about WHY they would want to from this example... it's not like we didn't do anything
if you get involved in a war between crazy people... you're going to incur some casualties... even if you don't deserve it...because they are crazy...
it's like running with the wrong crowd in school, you may not have robbed the liquor store, but if you hang out with the guys that do, don't be surprised if you end up in jail...

I agree, but I also love the carbon copy libs in here spouting "watch loose change and form your own opinion". like watching some crap propaganda piece will reveal to them their very own opinion. "Watch looney left field propaganda! you will have your own opinion!" does anyone else see the irony there? its not YOUR opinion its the opinion of the tin-foil hat brigade that you suddenly believe to be your own!

Islam is the cause of Islamic terrorism. And the muslim in the "sources" is finally apologizing for the effects of their religion on civilization.

They fall for the main stream BIASED media. They actually BELIEVE Dan Rather and they think the New York Times prints the facts.
They refuse to believe that there is a group of people out their in the disguise of the "Religion of Peace" that want to KILL us all. How do you reason with someone who looks at death as a promotion. These morons who "blame" the US and President Bush for EVERYTHING bad are suffering from the fumes of their stupid moronic "Impeach Bush" protest signs.
They just don't get it that the parasites, aka Muslim/Islamic nutcases want to destroy all who are NOT Muslim/Islamic. AND it amazes me that these same people who hate Bush and call him Hitler, support the worse terrorists the world has ever seen. The AlQuada and Hezbolla. I'd like to see Nancy Pelosi or Jane Fonda try to "reason" with someone like OSB, They'd be beheaded before they could spew their first words of hatred for the US.
