not everyone is like that. some people are just old fashioned and have old prejudices about different races.

I'm not bothered. We're all the same after all. So all the best to them I say! However, despite being in the 21 century, other people do take a dim view to different races marrying each other. In the overall scheme these individuals are a small minority, but it does exist. Especially those in the white supremest groups. After all they make it a point for whites only in the world. Rather stupid as we are all mixed up genetically and aren't specifically "one colour".

In America the interracial marriage seems to be most strongly by white-black marriages. I know personal my family would disown me if I married a black guy. I know they would NOT care if I married an Asian or any other race besides black. This is what really bothers me about my family.
I personally, in the past, used to feel anger when I would see black-white dating. The only thing I can accredit this to is my family influence on my beliefs that ultimately came from slavery and the belief that whites are better than blacks

When people of different races are together for the right reasons, there is nothing wrong with it (unless you're a racist of course, but the heck with them). As long as one's relationship is based entirely on mutual love and respect, who cares what color skin someone is wearing? I have known many couples of mixed races who were wonderful spouses to one another, and that is exactly as it should be.

Unfortunately, some people intentionally date or marry outside their race for the wrong reasons. I've known a couple people who dated outside their race (and family religion in one case) just to p!$$ off their parents or ex-partners, which is totally the wrong reason to be with someone, regardless of race or anything else. I've also known one who did so just to offset percieved social injustices -- again totally the wrong reason. And I've known people who would only date people from certain races (not their own) because "they make better spouses." In these cases it bothers me, not because of the race issue but because of the lack of respect for one's partner as an individual and unique human being -- or for one's self for that matter.

I would love to know why as well, am white English married to a black American and even within HIS family we get the snotty looks and comments................and IMO have found the females to be far far worse than anyone else.

And he did have a black wife some years before and we have JUST finished paying off all HER debts thank you very much and I am also the only white person he had dated let alone married.

i think mostly people tend to be more preoccupied with people having children form other races than actually getting married. weather we like to admit it or not our purpose in life is to generate and make sure our species lives on and doesnt die out so it is rather pointless to have children from people with h other races.
