I work for a Gynecologist/Oncologist and from what I know a "clear" discharge is normal it is when it becomes thick or even "watery" , greyish or even yellowish or green that you should become concerned, "Fishy" smell is usually a sign of Vaginosis. If your vulva smells fishy, it is almost certain that you have bacterial vaginosis (also known as ‘anaerobic vaginosis’). This is an imbalance in the bacteria in the vagina. All women have harmless bacteria in their vaginal passage. In bacterial vaginosis, some of the bacteria multiply so that more are present than is normal (it is usually the Gardnerella and Mobiluncus bacteria that are the culprits). In other words, bacterial vaginosis is not an infection caught from your partner, it is due to bacteria that are normally present in the vagina that just gets "out of control". Bacterial Vaginosis is treated with an Antibiotic, Metronidazole from your Doctor which I highly recommend regardless of who you are or what age I have witness to many woment ignore symptoms or regular check ups (PAP Smears) and have out comes that could have been prevented. Hope this helps.

I'm no expert, but I think most women will agree that you shouldn't be using vaginal wash. Your vagina cleans itself out. The odor is fishy, which means infection. You answered your question yourself. Now make an appointment with your gyno or regular doctor and get some meds so you'll smell good again.

Possibly bacterial vaginosis. I was "inactive" for 2 years and got BV from OVER washing, you can get it if any bad bacteria gets up there (Usually E. Coli) and there's not enough good bacteria to fight it off. The doctor will usually perscribe a course of antibiotics or what's called MetroGel, it's like Monistat but clear IIRC, and will clear the infection right up.

Visit your Gynecologist asap. You will need to have swabs taken and sent to the lab. It could be one of many things, ie. bacterial vaginitis etc. Act soon, antibiotics are effective and can solve the problem soon.
Also, remember to practice safe sex....an STD checkup should also be considered.
Good luck
