A little better than they did against Everton on Saturday, but not much. Well, 3 goals better, if truth be told.

Ha.

I think Rafa was right to leave some of the big guns on the bench. I think the most impressive performance that we (yes, a liverpool fan) have put out was against Chelsea with a similar midfield. They were tight and made it hard for PSV to play especially in the first half. I hate the press and the attention they bring along to everything. All everyone wants to do is get on the back of players and managers once they make mistakes. The next second when they make a glorious save or decision that wins a title they are praised to kingdom come. I think on Saturday Everton deserved more credit than was given to them. They wanted it more. Tonight liverpool were professional and thats enough. The better team won.....

Thought they were better in the first half as they appeared to have more control of the game at this point.

Second half and PSV seemed to be a bit stronger but Liverpool held on and Gerard was really un-lucky with one of his superb drives late on.

I think Benitez got it right on the night by saving his team strength for later games.

Should be ok in the return match.

Rafael did what he thought was the best thing for the team, I am not going to start questioning his every decision, Liverpool are going into the replay with an advantage, statement from Rafael "I am pleased with the goalless draw, but felt it would not have been a injustice if we had come home with the three points". Stevie had that near miss late on, but I thought Liverpool played OK.

Can't acctually tell there is something majourly up with Liverpool at the mo they just don't seem to be playing as a coherent unit.

Rafa seems to be having trouble in his selection and trying to keep everyone happy rather than playing his stronegest team for a specific game.

They were nowhere near as bad as they were against Everton on Saturday but a better side would have made them pay.

yes
1) alonso has been poor so far.
2) gerrard needs a rest.

a draw is a good result i would say especially if it is an away game and more so since the other game in the same group also ended up in a draw. we were better in the first half, second half not so great. but the main thing here is we did keep a clean sheet for the first time this season.

as for people saying the jury is out for rafe, well, he won uefa cup, CL, english FA cup, spanish la liga. excuse me, the jury was out long time ago that he is a good manager. i wonder what moyes has won in his life?

he was absolutely wrong

steven gerrard and xabi are one of the main players on the team..and he leaves them on the bench..so what result does he expect!!!!!!!!!
man liverpool started the English league with a very poor performance..so what do you expect them to do in the UEFA...

MANCHESTER UNITED...is the REAL champion of the english premier league....and i hope they do well in the UEFA..i wish they reach the final with barcelona..and the better team wins

They got a result in so far as they did not lose. Very boring to watch however. How on earth they can leave Gerrard on the bench is beyond me.

Dirk Kuyt was impressive, he's gonna be a legend. Bellamy and Pennant had a lot of running in them and were threatening. A bit more work needed in and around the box though.

I didn't understand why he did that! they are the best players!
i also think they should of put crouch on for whole match as he is a perfect finisher if he got anywhere near that ball it would of been in!!

They were playing awful on wed! i couldn't believe what i was watching they are my favourite team but i just i wanted to turn it off! and where ave all the scousers gone????

It really was a tentative gameplan, and it wasn't much fun to watch. I didn't see much of the first half, though. But I think Gerrard NEEDS to play and play great for Liverpool to have a chance. I'm not going to give up on them, though.
