Actually Adam Ant never went nuts!
Stuart Goddard on the other hand did have certain mental health issues.
People with 'Bi-Polar Affected Disorder' have an "unrealistic belief in their own ability" - thing WAS - he managed to convince us all that his belief WAS realistic!
Once you are aware of that - then statements like 'Adam coined the phrase "Antmusic" as he didn't want to be classified. He wanted to create an audience rather than cater to one already made.' make a lot more sense! This man felt invincible and was SO good he convinced the general populace of it too!
I'm a HUGE fan of Adam Ant - and after hearing of his mental health problems it only endears him to me more!

I saw a picture of him in a magazine a few months ago, he was very overweight and looked very old. I think after finding out he was alergic to the make-up years ago, he lost his image, very sad because I have to admit did like him.
It also had a picture of The guy from the Cure (forgot his name..Robert Smith??) he also was very overweight looked very old, I think both too many drugs and alchohol in earlier days!

I've just read about that in The Times2 supplement!!!!
He's sort of Ok now, he was really violent for a while but now he's on sedatives - he's 'with it' just enough to do interviews.
He apologised to the interviewer for not being "jovial" - overall he seems a bit sad really.
