Someone mentioned Kubrick. Now just supposing some Hollywood producer had the idea to set up fake moon landing movies. How does he get it into the systems and past all the technicians and controllers who manned the control centres from 1961 to the end of the Apollo missions in 1972 (and of course who still man them for the Shuttle missions).

At what point did the faking start switching in, which would have meant massive and surreptitious changing of millions of lines of software, tinkering with all the thousands of pieces of electronics, and all at some imaginary time when the thousands of controllers and technicians weren't looking.

And who was this army of technicians, engineers, software experts, graphics experts, electonics experts, who set up this scam without all the other thousands of experts being aware?

Conspiracy lovers, please give is a scenario of how and when this could have been done.

I worked at NASA. Knew some of the folks who worked in the control room. I can tell you two things. NASA couldn't fake a paper bag and the people from the early NASA days really believe in Space exploration. They are really proud of thier contributions to the Apollo programs. Many have worked thier whole lives at NASA despite having much higher paying opportunities elsewhere.

I have to agree with the alot of what you said except you assume a bit too much technlogy for the Apollo program. Back then the marker for the location of orbiting spacecraft was literally etched in glass. A VERY expensive system sold to NASA by IBM I think it was. Much of the isntramentation was actually raw data feeds. So instead of hijacking software they'd have to figure out how to fake telemetry data. A slight mistake in the faking of it would cause a zillion alarm bells to go off and funnies (a humorous NASA nickname for anomolies) would be generated all over the place. Every piece of data is eyeballed by at least one human being during a flight. Often scanned by several others before it's religated to the files.

You know, I am not a conspirator nor do I believe it was faked....however, the special on it a while back (of course I don't remember who aired it!) was really interesting. There were a few things that just did not fit in! If you didn't see it, try to find it!
