how would you name Br2(g) and what is the (g) there for?

whats confusing me is if its a compound, aren't there supposed to be two elements?

Br + Br is a non metal therefore covalent and molecular

The (g) is the state in this case gas

bromine is naturally diatomic.
the other one is methane.- CH4, but that nomenclature you would look for is carbontetrahydride. something like that, but it is methane CH3OH is methanol, which is what the race cars use. and it burns almost clear, you really can't see it.
