Why do people get so upset over welfare for poor people, but not upset about welfare for big corparations? Interesting, because the poor folks down the street take less money from the government then the large corparations, who get tax breaks and all sorts of perks. Welfare is not a huge part of the budget, really very small compared other expenses, you can research this.
People, who are on welfare are not living a great life, I'm sure many would rather work, but the jobs they could get wouldn't provide enough money to live off. Sometimes where you start in life makes all the difference. I know there are those great stories out there about people making their way out of poverty to become wealthy, but those are the exceptions.
I just think that there has to be a safety net in our system, so that people don't end up starving and living on the street. It would be great if everyone one could land that good paying job, but that is not how capitalism works, there aren't enough of the those jobs go around, because of supply and demand.
I could easily take the conservative approach, I've been working since I was 12 years old. I paid my way through college to get a better job and worked my way into a higher wage. It wasn't easy, and I think I earned everything I have, but I didn't grow up in a poor area. I had good parents, who took care of me. My family wasn't poor, but we didn't have tons of money to waste. We were a working class family trying to make ends meet during the 70's and 80's. We had good years and bad years depending on the economy.

The democratic party thrives on poor people staying poor. These handouts (welfare, food stamps, wic, section 8) are helpful for only a small % of people who want to pull themselves out of the black-hole of poverty.
If you're poor enough, free medical, prescription coverage and dental are yours while those that work and try are left in the cold. Even illegal immigrants are cashing in on the buffet
I've met people(scum) that actually have children so that they can cash in on these social programs, while training their children to blame the rich, successful and republican. Of course these children are neglected and used until such time they no longer help their "parents" abuse the system. In fact I'm close friends with such a victim. Real is so removed from ideal.
For most, these social programs keep their recipients DEPENDENT on the government, and thus dependent on democrats. A lifetime pauper is a lifetime democrat. They know no better.

LOL that was a pathetic attempt to turn the tables, but the facts remain the facts despite your idiocy, and basic liberal philosophy still believes that thegovernment should transfer wealth from the rich to the poor, while basic conservative philosophy is that each person should keep what they've earned

I think most welfare necessities could be discounted if we followed the Republican example of giving incentives to big companies to create jobs that help families become independent and less dependent on public welfare systems...Big companies need incentives to build in our country as more and more people living on the system creates a drain on resources which are then pushed onto bigger companies to pay more in taxes...makes it cheaper for those companies to move to another country and build.

Take word! they are again up operating vast salary in basic terms as before. also they are busy buying your authorities even as you “eye” your fellow human beings and substitute recommend-lively, lost barbs even as accusing those least in a position to guard themselves of being the reason of all of it. Most people on welfare do not vote that is why the repukes get away with giving money to the rich at the expence of the poor.
