Maybe if you create a good enough story as to why they should. People are suckers for a good story and are generally willing to pay a nominal amount to be part of it. In the U.S. a guy went on a quest to successfully trade up a paper clip to eventually get a house and it worked so figure out a story as to why they should do it and you never know it might work.

Most people can't be arsed to give a pound a week to charity to help the starving, yet they manage to buy their lottery tickets every week.
Why do you deserve our charity? Cos that's what you're asking for.

Well........... year's ago, I paid £1 to join Matalan! - together with 100's of others.
What was it for I ask myself? Paying to go into a shop, basically! Very clever on the part of Matalan tho'.
