to find the greatest common factor of 2 numbers,what do u do?explain.I no how just can't put it in words.Please help!

The easiest way, I've found, is to list the multiples of each number in columns next to each other, then eliminate all the numbers EXCEPT the ones that are in both columns. From the numbers that remain, pick the largest one.

List the prime factors of each number.
Multiply those factors both numbers have in common. If there are no common prime factors, the GCF is 1.
