I came here cause I was bored.

I'm interested in politics.
I live in the UK.
Im a little to the left.

I've been looking around in the politics questions section and basically it's filled with crass people who dont have half a brain thinking they are making political statements whilst saying things like:

"IM A LIBERAL. IM REALLY GAY. I HATE AMERICA. I LOVE MICHAEL MOORE."

or

"I HATE MUSLIMS. I HOPE WE KILL EVERY LAST PERSON IN THE MIDDLE EAST."

(seriously, look at my recently answered questions)

Does anyone here actually have a clue what the world is actually about? Do they understand the international politics and problems that have caused all the terrorism and wars of the last decade?

What are peoples views on this plague in Yahoo! Answers? I have seen so much rubbish around here and i'm worried by people like this. Are there really so many ignorant people out there who will speak out so strongly about things they don't understand?

Message boards attract people with extreme opinions true, but more often, it attracts BORED people that want to get a reaction out of others.

I would not become too concerned.

You can also look to the Guardian online message boards if you want to see more cultured opinions. The people there are a bit liberal for my taste, so i rarely post there.

People who do that want attention or a laugh. I don't know much about international politics except that it all revolves around lust, greed, and power. People start out in politics naively but when they're through they've lost all that naivete.
Those are the reasons behind terrorism. All the politicians you see are on an ego trip.

Every once in awhile you get a serious question... someone looking for facts. I agree with you. Sometimes when I look down the list of questions, there is not a one I feel is worth answering.

Some of us know a great deal about national and international politics.

They do not. If you look at your descriptions of Liberals and Conservatives you will hit it right on the head.

Neither side wants to encompass itself with the real issues.

Which is not terrorism. It is defending this country, by defending its borders and not invading a free-standing country.
