May be this old saddlebred is tired do not put weights on or elastic bands or any thing its all cruel we dont practise this in uk
leave the old girl free of pain now and enjoy her for the way she is
let her be happy she has the right to move naturaly as nature intended false movement is man made and some horses go through great pain and discomfort for ppls vanity and this is so sad enjoy her and let her enjoy what she has left of her time she would say thank you if she could .

Don't put rubber bands around her feet!!! That could cut off blood flow to her hooves. Try weighted shoes. Like on the tenn. walkers. You said she is old so she might need a supplement. Call a vet to check out her bones.

Go to the National Bridle Shop website. They have a weighted bell boots etc.. Do you ever ride with spurs? I show Walkers, and we'll get them pretty hot and therefore more "game". You'll get more action that way.

Try using weights, you can buy them at tack stores. All of the riders at my stables that want to have the high stepping action on their horses used weights with bell boots.

There are weights made for this purpose. Your horse is probably just old, cranky and tired, but you can try the weights. Sometimes, if you have them shod, they will pick them up more.

I think this is mean but you might wanna try pads or heavey shoes. Like the ones they use on Tennessee Walkers.
