It has steadily been getting worse with seeing gp stomach specalist and having a scope in tummy, he has been given numorous of tablets that do not help, he gets sharp pains in chest and up his sides, and in general has a feeling of unwellness, weakness, sickness and looks unhealthy and tired. Mild history of rectal bleeding (piles) He has now been prescribed tablets for the triple therapy (used for helicobacter pylori) for the next 7 weeks which are not helping. Does anybody recognise these symptoms? or know what it could be?

My father suffers from the same thing.
Very embarassing in public isnt it...
The doctors first told him it was a hiatus hernia, (something to do with a malformad aesophagus) he has been on several types of tablsts and diets and nothing seems to help. They have also suggested surgery.
I will get in touch with him and get details of the treatments he has been on and use edit function to add them to my answer.

My OH had similar symptoms. The cause was a bacteria which lives in the gut. It was diagnosed by a camera down the throat and into the stomach, not pleasant.
It is hereditary, he now takes tablets daily and will do for the rest of his life. Doctors first tried to cure the problem with a 10 day course of antibiotics which failed.
After taking lazoprasole daily he is now fine.

Sounds like an ulcer !
My father suffered from very similar symptoms several years ago and that's what was causing it.It actually took them about two years to sort it out properly,he used to be doubled in half with the pain from it.Ended up taking tablets for a long time to get rid of it !

Media and music being relationship love and drama obsessed, people over identify their problems with this sort of music, is someone really moving on when their listening to music about their issues? In the 80's and 90's music was about enjoying life and living the moment, now majority of it is the opposite and music has a big impact on people and cultures.

i agree sounds like his gallbladder. i had similar problems but was pregnant at that time. when it got worst i had the baby but the pain had gotten to where i needed to get the stones out and gallbladder removed, but i also had hiatal hernia. the gas was horrific and most embarrassing. i did have an endoscope and other test done but i wouldnt stop at just that. get another opinion i would get light headed and it did get worst with certain foods that i ate. blod in stools lots of fecal exams and cultures, but like a baby showing off they didnt see anything at that time, but i knew i saw blood. the only tablets they gave me were for gerd though. but after the surgery for the gallbladder removal and stonoes i have not had the gas problem. other problems but not gas. others meaning diarrhea.

i recognose it. i belch and its coz of trapped wind/gas in body just coming out. its ok. nothing wrong with it. its helping actualy to get rid frm body. and the piles bit, well...seems like he has constipation problems. get rid of constipation coz its causing gas/piles and therefore belching. get rid of bad stuff frm inside and you'll see what i meant. lots of water, fresh juices diluted 1/3 water, 2 parts juice, specialy pineapple juice. its gr8 for the problem he's having. orange juice is good if he's hot blooded tho, not cold! and if bad constipation, then tomatoe soup and prune juice. tell me if im wrrong. sometimes u think u've been for no 2 but u havent properly. this is also counted in with constipation coz its not suppose to be like that. sorry for gruesum details bbut im here to help and i hope u benifit frm my experiences.

There's a reason he's taking the antibiotic for seven weeks... It takes a while to work. Just stick it out.
