The huge , sleeping valcano that is in Yellowstone National park. If you go there you can see that for thousands of years , animals and humans have been going in and out of the crater. So when that one erupts, it will take out many many states and possibly the whole United States. Un-believable.

Although everybody talks of Krakatoa in the 19th century, the largest eruption in modern times was Tambora in 1815. That was also in Indonesia. Even as far away as USA, the after effects were felt. In 1816 there was no summer in the USA, and Washington DC (not state) recorded snow in every month of the year. Look up Tambora on Google.
However, even Tambora is not classed as a super-volcano. Yellowstone is, but is not the only one. In my own country New Zealand, we have the Taupo super-volcano that burrowed out lake Taupo in the North Island, which is now a 150 sq mile lake, great for trout fishing, but sitting over its dormant super-volcano. The whole Taupo/Rotorua region of New Zealand is very similar to yellowstone, with hot geysers all over the place, and we even get 10% of our electricity needs by tapping the thermal power.
One day it will blow again and put NZ off the map as far as being a livable place. perhaps we should have a swap policy with the Yellowstone people, so we can exchange countries if either of us start hearing the rumblings.

Mount Fuji
Mount Fuji (å¯å£«å±±, Fuji-san?, IPA: [ɸɯʥisaÉ´]) is the highest mountain in Japan. It straddles the boundary of Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefectures just west of Tokyo, from where it can be seen on a clear day. It is located near the Pacific coast of central Honshu. Three small cities surround it, they are: Gotemba (East), Fuji-Yoshida (North) and Fujinomiya (Southwest).
Mount Fuji is a well-known symbol of Japan and is frequently depicted in art and photographs, as well as visited by sightseers and climbers.
