For me, it certainly has. When I was in high school, I would fall back and not really care about my work. But now, this being my third year in college, I've come to appreciate education. I guess it's because of the quality of the education, the openness of the people or something.

how about you? Has college changed the way you view education, if so how? God bless you all.

Not too much change in my view of education: It was a matter of how well I could follow directions. Follow directions: get a good grade.

It really has, this is my second time around in college, I first received my bachelors in psychology and absolutely regretted it after the fact. The thing was, I wasn't at all serious about my education. I partied, skipped many classes, got stressed, and crammed for tests. Even worse, I ended up getting a dead end job. I did some soul searching and decided I wanted to desperately work in the medical field. Now a year later after I graduated from college, I'm back in school pursuing nursing. The way I view education is surreal. School gives you options and opportunities. With the right major and a strong sense of determination, you can land a great career doing what you want and be happy while doing it. I say, take college very seriously, give yourself options and opportunities. Get a major and stick to it. Participate in interships, travel abroad, do what you have to do to make sure you get the adequate training. Gain experience in your field. God has certainly been good to me, by giving me a second chance at proving myself and by giving me such a supportive and loving husband.

No. I have always been naturally smart. I never had to actually work at learning anything, whether it was in high school or my 4 completed years of college. I tend to believe that law school will be a different game altogether though.

i am about to start my final year at university next month, and alas i wouldn't have got to where i am today academically without a college education. being at college had certainly and without a shadow of a doubt made me view education from a different perspective. especially as because i disliked the school system a lot it restored my faith back into education and plus as i got older, it has made me realise the importance of doing well on a academic level.

being at college and university are two totally different experiences, and yet both have been central towards my success as a student today. the fact that we are with students of different ages, races and abilities, as well as those who hail from a variety of educational backgrounds who treat you with the utmost respect makes my life less daunting. its good to learn from other students, but its also good for us to share with them our experiences, knowledge and understanding too. that's one of the purposes of being a student; in that its one thing possessing knowledge and the skills and sharing it with others and yet its another by passing it on towards others and for them to utilise it in their own constructive way.

and in response to that question being posed, college has indeed made me perceive education as this opportunity that once you grasp in your hands you have to make the best of it and to demonstrate you have what it takes to be a good student. particuarly as a mature student. i don't consider myself to be a swot or have the IQ equivalent to einstein. but i am good at my subject which is media studies and possess a fair amount of knowledge in this area of study.

my advice to those who didn't do well at college in their studies is not to give up. just because you didn't get the grades you expected, doesn't make you out to be stupid. only that it says you have to try harder next time round. its never too late to study and achieve your academic goals. if you fully believe in yourself and your ability, then you will undoubtedly succeed in the end.
