Music calms and relaxes sometimes when you are stressed out.
Music can be used as an assistance tool when you are trying to woo the one you love with a romantic dinner or evening.

It depends on the music. Babies who listen to Mozart show a marked increase in mathematical skills for instance. Classical music tends to release tension and aid in memory. I don't see any benefits in listening to rap, heavy metal and the like. But then, that's not music is it?

Music sometimes seems to say what you want better than you can...it can create a mood and I don't know about anyone else, but hearing certain songs will bring me right back to a certain time in my life, a certain memory or remind me of someone (good or bad, lol). It can create a mood, and help you express yourself, whether you are happy, sad, angry, whatever...

the benificial side to it is that if you listen to music you can make up your own ideas, or if you know how to play a instrument people would probably pay you to be in their symphony or something.

I read somewhere once that "music soothes the savage beast". Not that I'm calling you or I that but music certainly makes me happy; helps me zen out and relax.

It depends on what type of music... your question isn't specific on what type of music
