Your question is a little vague? Can we pick a system? Are we picking the measurements? One said that the metric system is more accurate. That is not correct. One system is as accurate as the other. One said the metric system is modern. That is not correct. The S I metric system is the most accepted. The method of building a house does not depend upon the system of units used for measurements. One house is as good as the other. For measurements or comparison, give them or check a conversion chart.

Ameican System is Feet and Inches
Metric system is Meters and Centimeters
