We see and hear a lot about American politicians and American voting. But did anyone stop to think about Native Americans and the fact they have their own tribal elections? Why doesn't the media include them?

You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You'll learn things you never knew you never knew.
For whether we are white or copper skinned
We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains
We need to paint with all the colors of the wind.

I have seen Native American broadcast News from the Western States. Santa Fe Shiprock area has a 24/7 TV station.
As for voting It would not surprise me if there is a more ethical election on some tribal issues than for the Mayor of Washington DC

It's a dollars and cents issue. If more people were interested in tribal elections and events then you would see more coverage on CNN, Fox, etc. It's a shame because I don't know much about the politics and life on the reservations and I'd like to know more. I think that most Americans, unless they live near a reservation, don't think a lot about native Americans. I don't think visiting a casino on a reservation really counts.

you're using words from pocahontas to describe your disproval of the way the media represents native americans?
anyway the media represents the people who make them money... the news covers issues which matter to the people who can afford the cars they advertise in the commercial breaks... and look how many oil companies advertise on Fox

American Journalism is biased in so many ways. I am amazed at the difference in reporting when I listen to BBC news. The difference is apparent immediately.

The N.A.'s only make up a very small percentage of consumers. Consumers drive ad revenue. Ad revenue pays the media's bills.

since their elections only affect the tribe, I'm sure that it is only local coverage.
