The people who say this are usually the same Americans who visit foreign countries without even trying to learn the language, and expect everyone to speak English to them, and drive rental cars badly.

A foreigner driving here isn't that bad- memorizing some signs and rules is all they need, and speed limits don't need any translation. They dont need a 1000 word vocabulary to drive well, as they do to converse. Learning a foreign language takes time and immersion,; and English is a particularly difficult language to learn. Have some consideration-- trying to adapt to a new culture is hard enough without hostility from the new neighbors.

yes I know its crazy. IF you can't speak english or read it you shouldn't be over here living then. And we shouldn't have to know spanish or whatnot to get some jobs these days.

I have no problems with immigrants just learn to speak English. It will help them and every one around them.
