For Harley Riders...What octane % and What brand of gasoline is best bp, shell..etc...?

And another problem is I am having a small drop of oil or gas coming of the back rockerbox... is that common.....it's comming from the fins then onto the pipe.....

Owner's manual says 91 Octane (R+M)/2
I use 93.

I haven't noticed much difference between brands, except price. They all burn.

I think you pretty much have to run the high octane gas. My uncle said he accidently put the 87 octane in his road king, and it sounded like it was going to fly apart. I have never run anything below 93 octane in my 2002 dyna lowrider. I average about 47 mpg and have never had any problems with the fuel system. I have about 36000 miles on my bike. I usually try to buy a name brand gas such as exxon,bp,texaco. I have used off brand types occasionally with no problems though. I have never had the rockerbox leak oil, but I have heard of other people having that problem.

Highest octane possible,if you've got an independent station w/ 100oct use that. #2 Harleys leak, a rocker box leak is not uncommon and its always the rear because its the harder of the two to fix.

I use the highest octane available. when youre geting 45+ mpg, gas price isn't much of an issue.

I usually use mid grade 89 octane.

i use the highest grade i can obtain in my evo motor,,in my shovel head i use the the highest grade i can obtain,then i add an octain booster...all shovel heads leak at the rear of your rocker boxes with a stock hd gasket..if you replace the gaskets try putting a small coat of copper gasket sealer on them before you tighten them down...if you have an evo motor it is sort of uncommon for them to leak.

sounds like you have a rocker box leak .....i use the best gas i can find
