To ensure a great open house follow these few things to make your home especially appealing:
- Evaluate the "curb appeal" of your property. How does your house look from the street? Not only do you want your home looking nice in the front, you really want it to stand out and be NOTICED!
-Improving traffic flow of your house is equally important, you want your rooms to look as large as possible. Remove any large unnecessary furniture and put it in storage. Same goes for closets, makes sure they are organized and tidy.
-I know you mentioned you had the house clean, but having it professionaly cleaned isn't a bad idea. They might clean things you otherwise wouldn't have thought of.
-Its also good to make sure all light fixtures have new, brightly burning bulbs. More light means the appearence of a bigger space. Also make sure nothing is in the way of the windows, you want to allow for maximum natural light as well.
-Consider making minor repairs around the house. Get some WD-40 for those squeaky doors/closets and fix any fixtures, hinges, hooks, or knobs that are worn out or broken.
-Think about fresh flowers or potpouri to set out the day of. Also it should feel clean when buyers open and close appliances, good to keep in mind. Possibly turn on some light classical music to make the home more inviting.
These are all good ideas for home sale preparation. If you are not going to do them all atleast do a few. Good luck with your open house, hopefully you will have it sold in no time at all.

Absolutely put away anything and everything you can to make the house feel less cluttered and bigger. Turn on all the lights so it is bright and cheery.
By all means, have a dish of hard candies available.
DO NOT burn scented candles as this can indicate that you are trying to cover an unpleasant odor or problem. You can slip room fresheners behind the furniture or under the beds if you want to.

Ok, get the brightest bulbs that you can get and put in all over the head fixtures.
Get RID of all the pictures from the wall!!!
People dont like clutter, and they like to see the walls bare, so that they know the conditions of it.
LESS IS MORE!!! Take all clothing from the closets, and store them elsewhere. (They need to see how big the closets are!).
Get rid of as much, and put in storage if you have to, of your trash and tresaures. Remember, they are buying the house, not your stuff!
Yellow flowers outside is best, as an attraction for people...(people want bright things, yellow is an attactor for any eye).
Finger prints, and other stuff like that must be off the walls and doorways, so that they can see a clean place. Freshen up the paint job or trim work if its dull.
WASH THOSE WINDOWS!! Let in as much light as possible!! That sells a place!
Now, put some cinnamon in the oven on a cookie sheet, and set it on low, so that the aromas will permeate the entire house and make it feel like "home" (scent aromas are powerful!).
Nothing on the walls, and clean or paint over light spots or repaint the walls if you have to, to make it bright. Remember, dark recessses must be lighted up, so that they dont think there is something your trying to hide.
Get the kids from underfoot! No one wants to be bothered by kids underfoot. Make it as sparse as possible, for them to see.
Get sheer curtains, so that it lets in more light. Get rid of the ones that are Heavy and Dark. Light up every room, with curtains pulled and tied, and the new GE bright lights on.
I wish you well..
Jesse

Turn on all the lights, bake cookies or burn a candle that smells like baking cookies. Take down personal photos.

Clean off the kitchen countertop completely so it looks larger.
Get rid of toys, occasional furniture, extra knickknacks, etc to make it look as large as possible.
The experts say de-clutter & de-personalize.
