I'm confused about some of the answers about "you want what you can't have". I for one would give it up to you in a heartbeat. A lot of guys would. It's the excitement of the chase and the win that you crave.

Because you can't have them. We always seem to want what we can't have. Been there, it ended up hurting me for a very long time. I was 'the other woman' a couple of times. There was a thrill to it because I would think "if I can get this man to leave his wife, I must be really hot". I unfortunately realized a little too late that it was very destructive behavior. Don't do it. Find something else to be proud of. Now that I'm married I have found out how very selfish I was.

Well, first, some married men are married for a reason: they're desirable.
Next, you see them as something unattainable, or perhaps you visualize them as a husband and you like it.
Go find your own husband and leave other women's husbands alone! Seriously. You don't want to start with this stuff. It's a world of heartache for you, the wife, and sometimes, if you're both lucky, the husband suffers too.

Seek some professional help on this one. You could end up really doing a lot of damage to a lot of people including yourself if you pursue married men. A good therapist will help you find out what it is about married men that attracts you and help you resolve the issue so that you can have a loving, fulfilling relationship that you don't have to share with anyone else.

A married individual appeals to you because you assume that the marriage aspect makes the individual more secure and strong in many ways....which of course is not necessarily correct and in a lot of cases totally wrong. You are searching for someone to shore up your insecurities and this idea of yours about married men is all wrong...bad bad motivational idea...

You think that you see him as "capable of committing," which is ironic because if you did him, you'd be proving the opposite. You are attracted to the conquest but don't want the responsibility of holding a relationship together -- probably because you really feel that you are not long-term lovable. So, hurting a woman you are envious of, and who appears to be more lovable than you, makes you feel more "leveled" with her.

I think it is partly because you are not ready to commit yourself to a man that is available. A married man can be nothing more than a booty call and you don't have to fuss over what to make him for breakfast, you know you have limited time with him freeing you up for other things, and you don't have to buy him expensive presents because he can't explain them to his wife.

Its like when we were kids when our parents said we could not do or have something we wanted that much more. Parts of society say it is wrong so it is a temptation plus it is a guilty pleasure to fantasize about what we can't or shouldn't have.

Very clear here, listen up: You're selfish and enjoy wrecking someone's marriage. You like the attention you get from a man who is taken. It's a challenge.

maybe because you know they can offer something like stability. I dont really know. Thrill of maybe trying to take them from their spouse ( NOT SAYING YOU ARE OR WOULD )
married men are sexy, I tell my hubby women hit on you cause you smell like baby lotion and dryer sheets which in turns me, you love your baby and hold them close and that if they had an affair with him at least they wouldn't have to do his laundry cause his wife would, lol
