Chalk it up to the oldest of human vices – JEALOUSY! When it comes down to it Republicans wish that George W. Bush were half as charismatic, eloquent, and intellectual as Clinton. Acrimony for Clinton stems purely from Republican envy of the fact that despite how scandalized we was by his enemies, he emerged victorious, having a higher approval rating after his reputation had been tarnished, than Bush is enjoying now. Truth is, if Bush were marred by a similar scandal, and the Democrats were as small minded as the Republican witch hunters in trying to impeach a President over a triviality, he would not have survived. It really puts a serious dent in their sanctimonious moral values platform. Clinton’s popularity belies the impression that America is as puritanical as those Christian conservatives in the Republican Party. Ah…if we just had you back in office Clinton, how things would be quite different today.
