Got an IM recently from a 'best' friend I had not seen since 1986. Very surreal experience.( best is NOT a code word for anything. I mean it the traditional Opie Taylor way.)

My longest running friendship is 35 going on 36 years. We are really good friends, but not really best. We may go six or more months without talking, and then one or the other of us will call and pick up where we left off. We get together for dinner and talk for hours. A long running mutual respect keeps it going.

I have a best friend in whom I met my freshman year of highschool. And we are still best friends. We havent seen each other since graduation though, but we still talk. We have been friends for 6-7 years now. That is my longest friendship. worth mentioning. Sorry. did the best I could with answering your question.

I'm 40 and I have had the same best friend for the last 28 years. It's awesome to have someone who has known you that long and still loves you anyway!!

I've been best friends with the same person for 32 years, and that's how old we both are. We were born in the same neighborhood -across the street from eachother.

I have known a particular woman since the 4th grade. We remain friends, but we aren't as close these days as were when we met up again in high school.

I have known my best friend since 5th grade (about 11 years ago) and even though we don't talk much (we live so far apart) we still consider each other best friends :)

Mine is probably around the same time, we were best friends in high school & now weve got that beachs thing going on where we keep in touch via postal services. Yeah shes definatly the wind beneath my wings =)
