I think it would be a good Idea to forward your letter to the Michigan authorities and see if they can answer your question.

I left home when was 14, my father continued paying my mother until was 18, I never saw a penny of it. My father pays for my sister now, who is 21. He has to pay as long as she's in college full time until she is 24. She lives with my mother who pays all the bills. Support is for the parents to take care of you and they dont have to give you any cash, but if it went to court would have to prove how they spent it on you. After a child turns 18 and there is still child support paid, things are divided into thirds. The parents each contribute a third, support being one parents and the adult child has to pay in a third. That goes for food, houseing, school and supplies. Usually it is only done that way if the adult child is still living at home and in school full time.
What it comes down to is that your mom doesn't have to give you a penny. But, if you dont feel that she's spending it on you, tell your father and he can go to court and make her say how she spends it, My dad did for my sisters money.

You say grown but you don't say how old you are which would be important. If he is still sending checks, you are probably in college and then those checks would be used by your mom in order to offset the cost of your going to college. If you are over 18 and not in college then I believe your father is getting ripped off, or not sending the checks to the right person.

Or are you not helping your mom out paying the bills at home, even though you are old enough to support yourself? That may be why dad is still paying mom. Your child support is to help with your living expenses, so either way if mom is still paying the majority of your living expenses then she gets the check

There may have been years that your father did not pay child support and this money is owed to your mother. That's a question you'll need to ask your mom or dad. If your grown, most likely it is back owed child support.

Child support only runs until you turn 18. Your Mom could be spending the money, but that is probably doubtful unless she is using it for bills, and groceries. Your Dad could also be resisting paying for a while.

Child support payments are not meant to be paid directly to the child and they stop at 18 unless otherwise noted in the custody decision. I have to agree with everyone else, your dad is probably paying "catch up".

if you are over 18 and he is paying child support then he is paying arrearages that he owes your mother for your past food/needs etc. You aren't entitled to it-sorry.

they still go to your mom........

get that fixed and make some kind of deal with her because altought such a case would be grounds for a law suite i don't think its really a nice thing to sue your mom, but then again if she's been stealing from you for the past 4 years then maybe you should........
