I think it's possible as long as you feel it. But your idea of "true love" will change as you get older too and you may look back and think what you have now isn't really what you wanted. That's not to say it can't work out but don't rush into an engagement before you have your own life sorted out. Are you going to college? Do you have career plans? Does he have career plans? Do you want children? How many and when? There are a lot of things to consider before you get married, these are just a few. If it IS true love then waiting a while before settling down won't change a thing except that you'll feel more confident that you are making the right choice.

I personally think that anything is possible, especially with love. If you are concerned taht the engagement is too soon you could hold off for a while, or get engaged and then wait a long time to get married. If you truly love eachother everything will turn out how it should and I wish you the best of luck.

yes possible. My 2 friends are engaged right now too, they met about 2 years ago at age of 17/18. Still together, and love each other...

i met my man when i was just barely 19. he is 4 years older than me. we dated for about a month or two and quickly got engaged. we have been together now for 4years. we still haven't gotten married, but thats ok for the two of us. there have been ups and downs, but that is normal for all relationships. the problem with young love is that they dont realize this. its perfectly possible that you've met the love of your life and will be with him forever, but you need to tread gingerly. know that you will fight and there will be days when you hate him and when he hates you; days might even be weeks or months. but if you're truly committed to each other these feelings will pass.

the best advice that i can give is not to rush things. stay in school. go to college. put marriage and children off until you two are in a more secure situation financially and emotionally. know that you do not need to look towards society for their approval to love someone. after all, only YOU can say if its possible and right for you. nobody else can.

Yes, of course it is possible.

I married my husband when I was 18 and he was 30. We have been together for 4 years now and couldn't be happier with each other. We have two children and I don't know what I would ever do without my family. I don't regret marrying him at all, and if I could go back in time to do it all over again I wouldn't change anything.

Yes,
True love can happen at 18, but also falling out of love can happen in a few years. At 18 and 20 niether one has developed into the adult you will probably be. usually people get emotionally balanced at around 25.

Sure, we learned in a class when I was younger that girls can really love someone at 16, but boys don't until they are 22. I always stuck to that, but I know some people that age who really do love each other.
