I have had this problem since i started, regular for a while then HUH? Sometimes up to a year without (it's not all bad) You should really see your gp or a gyno. Going on the pill will regulate you, if you go off it after a while you may stay regular, or you may for awhile and then go back to your old ways. Good luck

How long have you been having your period? It's normal for them to be irregular for a couple of years after you first get it. If that's not the case, you may have ovarian cysts, or some abnormal cells. Not to scare you. Have you gotten a pap smear? It feels like 2 at one time because it basically is. It's like a build up of the one you missed. I used to be like this on top of horrible cramps. I had all kinds of tests done and a pap and nothing was abnormal. You may also have an STD. This can screw up your menstral cycle. Also, some women just have abnormal periods. I went on birth control to regulate them and get rid of the cramps. It has done wonders but you have to be careful with hormone levels.

Have you used the pill to regulate your period. There are brands of Birth Control that can reduce your periods to only 4 a year. They say that if you can take BC pills all the time that you can go for years without a period. You should not be a smoker and over 35 years old.

You may want to talk to your obgyn, or gp to go on a low dose of birth control pills to help regulate your system. I went through it for many years, now I have been on Depo ( I do not want kids) for years and I do not even get a period anymore.

99% of the time it is nothing to be scared of, do not let the horror mongers on here scare you. So many things can cause this issue, under weight, over weight and time, as you get older.

Go see your doctor. It sounds like it could be a thyroid problem or hormonal irregularity, or polycistic ovarian syndrome. I had problems for a long time where I didn't get my period. They tried putting me on the pill, but it wasn't effective and changed my mood. Plus, there are side effects to being on the pill.

If it is a hormonal condition it should be checked out because over time it could have effects on more than just your cycle. (i.e. your heart, your metabolism, hair loss, etc.)

Go to your doctors and get them to do some test, maybe they will put you on the pill or even a hormone replacement. Sounds like this can get very painful for you.

Good luck
