Although they have a great ad campaign going. What lures you into Apples Ipod or any other products? Me personally, I don't buy purchase Apple products. They advertise things that have been out for years meaning MP3 players and now movies on your computer? It's already been done.

The ipod is the best MP3 player AVAILABLE, not the best mp3 player POSSIBLE. It does have some serious downsides, but the features are great.

Their draw is "simplicity." They look sleek and itunes is rather easy to use. The ipod itself doesn't appear complicated, is 'trendy' according to some, and it doesn't take much know how to use one.
I just switched to a Creative Zen Vision M myself.
My ipod days are over for the time being. My nano just died. A year before that, I had a year old ipod mini die on me. So far so good with the Zen.. but it's only been a few days so far. I find the software for the Creative Zen a bit harder to use, but if it lasts longer than a year, it'll be worth it.
The ipod technology is NOT superier. It's just user-friendly and has become a household name. Plenty of other players have more-- and sometimes 'better'-- features, but the household name ipod is more popular. People like what's easiest. They don't want to research mp3 players, so they get what they've heard of-- the ipod. It's simple, easy, and thin. I'll give you that. It's not feature packed, but since when do people prefer function over style?

I don't do it because of tv, it's because they've been there for years so they know their thing, not like so mp3 that just came out. I also like the design.

It's simple to use, thus user friendly, efficient, painless, and easily manageable. Plus, it's thin and looks nice.
