The power elite believe it's okay to outsource jobs, move our factories to third world countries and bring illegals into this country to do the jobs that are left. Stands to reason they don't want to raise the minimum wage, doesn't it?

I do not know who are the power elite, besides myself. I personally am opposed to raising the minimum wage. It amounts to a tax on businesses who pay minimum wage. I heard of one report that found that about 500,000 people are working for minimum wage, out of a work force of 150 million. Of the 500,000 working for minimum wage, about three-fourths of those people are in families where there are other incomes.
Employers and the market place should be the deciding factor on wages.

I think this is actually a good question to discuss...as I have no idea how a working family can survive on minimum wage in this country. I see people all the time work their rear ends off doing jobs most of us would never do for very little rewards...I think it needs to increase significantly over the next 3-5 yrs!!

The marketplace should govern what the skill or task is worth, not some arbitrary number.

To mandate that people get a minimum salary suggests that they cannot earn that wage with their skills (which would be pathetic at best).

Let the market decide!

It does not really matter. Once minimum wage is raised everything else goes up.

I don't know how the elite feel.
But I know it's a phony issue. Democrats never use it until election time.
Then, all of the sudden, they care. (Act like they do.)
