MY main factors would be my : ABILITY & DESIRE... there is no chance of me ever trying to be a Dentist for I couldnt care less about other peoples teeth nor do I want to go through schooling.
Always do what you love and it won't feel like a job... My life / job feels like a vacation everyday for I love what I do.
Everyone's career factors will differ...especially due to how they were raised and their geographical location. : )

Growth opportunity, if you love what you are doing, money, whether you have to relocate, travel, medical coverage, 401 K and stock options. Things of that sort.
