basically yea in the end they do. with the American flag once it is used beyond repair you burn it in a "dignified manner"

Yes, flags end up getting burned... not that we intended it to be like that at first, because of the smoke and everything, but we soon realized that they weren't good replacements for toilet paper, and then they were just stinking up the place so we had to do something about it. Don't get me wrong, it's kinda fun and all, but it wasn't our first choice.

I think it is some kind of cultural thing. Like the guy in LA with Hula Dolls glued all over a old Cadillac.

Any VFW or American Legion chapter will collect your old flags and they burn them in a Flag Burning ceremony. They are properly disposed of if given to those organizations.

NO! try this ...go to any mosque in the US and make yourself known to someone there..then take out a Flag of some muslim nation like Iraq or Iran....and preceed to burn it in front of them....see what happens to you!!

I BELIEVE THE VFW TAKES CARE OF THESE OLD FLAGS. IF THEY BURY THEM IT IS NOT IN A LANDFILL.
