I have an EIN but do I need to do something else to get a Federal Tax ID #?

Your EIN is the same as a Fed Tax ID

if you are incorporating, you need to fill out a SS-4 form from the IRS to get a Federal Tax ID #, because if someone decides to sue you, they will sue the company (Tax ID), not you personally (EIN). If you are not incorporated, then you only need an EIN
