It depends on what you want to do with one. I think one with plenty of power and breaks down the least would be the most fun. Then you have to factor in off road vs street car. My Ford Focus with its manual trans is a fun car.

Any Porsche 911 or BMW M-prepared car for serious driving, but old British convertibles like the MG-B's are fun to drive (if not fun to own), also BMW 2002's and VW GTI's.
Some of the best drives I've ever had were in well-worn cars that drove OK, but were cheap to replace if driven too hard. For me, it really depends on the road, state of mind, and the company you're with.

I love my '69 Camaro! But I think my '68 Camaro is the best. 4spd with a 388 stroker. Nothing beats the feel of an American muscle car. I also love my '67 Nova...and am now putting a 6 spd from gear vendors. Also, I had(sold her a month ago) a Chevy C-10 pickup, '70 w/454 BB, bored to a 460 and that was the best. I'm telling you, there is nothing like being behind the wheel of an American made muscle car! Nothing like it in the world for me!

I test drove a bmw 5 series, and that was the best driving car I have ever had the pleasure driving. It was only a test drive, but what a drive. I took a couple of fast turns and opened it up on the freeway...What an experience...

I enjoyed by BMW 318i. I enjoyed driving in NYC with my wife and having no one honk at me or disrespect me in any way, shape or form. The car drove a steady 85-90 without issues but I killed the engine and I have no more car. :-(
