they make some plastic spike strips that are used to keep pigeons from roosting try using them be sure you place them on the bottom of the roosting spot since bats hang upside down. You might even try placing a mesh bag with human hair in it near the roost most animals dislike the smell of humans and it will drive them away

When you close up the area, get a "net", a fishing net or butterfly net to trap him.
Wear protective clothing! Dont let the bat "on" you or you may get bit.
I would get it when its light, (have a huge spot light down there and you will see him), and then you can just get that net and nab him and then, put something over the net so he cant get out, then let him out!
Bats eat a huge amount of bugs! If I were you, I would build him a "bat house" and hang it under your eve, so that you can keep him around! They are very beneficial for your area.

when I was a child we had a bat in our house. We caught it while it was sleeping by putting a glass jar over it and sliding a card between the wall and the jar. My uncle then took it to school with him!

Turn the lights off while catching it. It will go blind and crazy. But make sure it doesn't bite you. It bites bad.
