when i put a disc in the cd-rom drive my mouse freezes ,i am totally at a loss on this one,every thing else is fine,this all started when i tried to install a 2nd hard drive
i can do a windows re-install but would rather not if its only a quick fix
any ideas

sounds like an IRQ conflict. Look into the settings for the mouse and see if you can change to a free IRQ port. If not see if you can do it for the hard drive. If not uninstall the drivers for one of these items find updated drivers and reinstall the hardware with the updated drivers.

Go into control panel and view your hardware profile for the equipment in your computer you will probably find a conflict between the CD ROM drive and the mouse. May be able to change the resource settings to resolve the problem.

There is no fix when you put the second hard drive in you need to format to pick up second hard drive this would course your systems to crash that's why your mouse is freezing

Opps, I only clicked on your question, because I thought you were actually talking about a real live mouse being in a freezer...and I thought, wow, that will have to be interesting to read a question on.
