Would tell me any stores IN LONDON where British High Society usually buy their formal clothes?

To. Mr. "Speak Up": Why " bit suspicious"? What are you talking about? I'm just tired to find wrong specifications about full-dresses, including the length of the waistcoat. I'm looking for a place where I can't find a formal wear that doesn't abash me in Vienna's balls. Many answers was very helpful, as Countessa's, TJ's and Dunrobin's. And funny answers are welcome too, because of British humor, but, certainly, not yours. And I'd never asked "where they congregate"! If you still think it's "bit suspicious", go to police. Answering your question, I'm Brazilian. They already murdered another innocent "bit suspicious" one. This answer wasn't to explain anything to you, but only to express my full indignation. Farewell!

James Lock on St James's St is England's oldest hat store (17th century). They have a website. Turnbull and Asser, on Jermyn St, makes clothes for Prince Charles, and also have a website. Ede and Ravenscroft (one store in Chancery Lane, one on Savile Row) make robes for the knights and peers, as well as formal wear and ordinary suits and shirts. Jermyn St in London is a great place for men's formal wear. There is also a tailor's called James on London on Tatchbrook St, Pimlico, into which I saw a very distinguished member of the House of Lords go. You could also go to the site of the royal warrant holders' association, and search for clothing stores used by the royal family. One that I remember Prince Philip using is Gieves and Hawkes, also on Savile Row.
