Cricket name meaning has a lot of varieties. I can say by now you two of them:
In Zoology: Any of various insects of the family Gryllidae, having long antennae and legs adapted for leaping. The males of many species produce a shrill chirping sound by rubbing the front wings together
, or so it is: leaping insect; male makes chirping noises by rubbing the forewings together
In Sports: a game played with a ball and bat by two teams of 11 players; teams take turns trying to score runs.

1) a small jumping insect usually found on meadows on pastures.
2) also a game invented in England which included 11 players a side, two wickets wit 22 yards between them. a team bats while the other bowls in an inning. there is a one day version and test version of the game!

An addiction, even more dangerous than any norcotics. Even an addict can give up his/her addiction, but I can not even think of restrict myself from watching Cricket in TV. The greatest reason for which I have been absence in my office and have been scolded in my entire life is the bloody cricket.
