In the state of MD, is it legal to date while separated? He filed for divorce in April, so he is legally separated. Does MD have any laws about that kind of stuff and if so, what are they?

To add more to this...He is getting the divorce because during his one year marriage, his wife cheated on him multiple times. So he has very justified reasoning for getting out of the marriage. He was not treated very well at all by his wife.

You should be safe, especially if he filed for divorce. That tells you that he truly wants out of the marriage. However, I would not get serious. Keep it very casual. If he has to wait a year for the divorce to be final, that will give you both time to get to know one another.

Well you can date if you want......but my big question is ....why would you want to? I mean they guy just got out of a marriage. Many times these marriages reconcile despite what people might tell you.
It's best to NOT date this guy and find someone else that has not just "jumped out of the frying pan". This guy won't be good to any woman for at least two years.
You don't want to be the transisitional woman ...do you. If you're just lookin' for a good roll in the hay then fine...you'll have a good time....but if you're looking for a partner for a long term thing then leave this lie and find another.
Check out thte following webstie. It's for guys but it can answer your questions as well. Many women have used this and thought it useful. It also gives yuo a "bird's eye view of a guy's psyche.
