I'm not sure this is even possible, but what happens if you tie for the wildcard?

1 game playoff It has never happened in the history of wildcard (which is not that long) but it has happened in different divisions. The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox have come to this many times.

I believe there will be a one game playoff with the winner of that game taking the wildcard spot.

It happend in the NL back in 98 or 99 I believe with the Cubs and the Giants. There was a 1 game tie-breaker.

In baseball there would be a 1 game playoff for the spot

which ever team has the best record against eachother during the regular season. if that's the same than they have a playoff. I'm pretty sure it's just one game.

They play a series to determine who gets it. Same as if there is a tie for the division.

for baseball it is a one game playoff - the site is determined by coin flip.

for football it is an arcane series of lawyerly worded tiebreaks, the last of which is a coin flip.
