Trying to kill some climbing bittersweet (has gone completely out of control and is killing trees in my forest/yard)

herbicides work in temp's 65 degree's and up.

Of course.. weed killer will work as long as the plant is growing and as long as it has about 24 hours to penetrate the plant before it is rained on or etc.

white vinegar will work when nothing else will. just spray, or pour if it is a major problem, the vinegar as close to the ground near the roots as possible. be careful though, it also kills grass and any other type of weed or flower.

The fall and the spring are good times to spray for weeds. Spraying in the fall prevents them from springing up in the spring. It attacks the weeds while they are going to seed. That's what my bottle of weed spray says.

As long as the plant is still active, herbicide will work.
