should the petals be real or should it be those perfect little silk ones or is it cheesy to have the fake ones?

rose petals are always lovely, and the real ones can be just swept up and thrown out, what would you do with fake ones? sweep them up and save them?

I personally wouldn't use fake ones, just because I am an earthy mama. I think it's cliche to use rose petals though. I am always looking for ways to be unique...mostly because I don't want to be like everyone else and do everything the way everyone else does.

I would use real flower petals and get something like maybe carnations or something. roses don't have as many petals as many other flowers do either...and they are extrememly expensive as well as overrated.

It's ideal to use real rose petals, but only if you're outside. If you're inside, you risk damaging the floor when the bride walks down the aisle, in that the oils from the petals can be squeezed out, and stain the flooring.

there is nothing cheesy about having silk flowers. also they are better because they wont stain the floor at the church.
petals, i personally like rose petals. if you have a walmart near your house or a joann-fabric. they carry rose petals in containers for about $8.00 and brings over 100 petals. they usually come in soft pink or red. they look beautiful and since they are fake, they wont stain the church, the wedding dress of the bride, or the dreeses of the bridemaids.

i had an outside wedding and she used real petals, i really liked it and it's not too exspensive, just buy a couple roses and pull the petals off...you can also use other flowers not just roses, or just be creative...good luck!!

Rose petals, of course. You can get them cheaper at Costco, Sam's club. Pluck them the night before, leave them in the frig. for next day use. Note: the compartment where you store the pedal in the frig. needs to be contaminate free...meaning no food in it, just the pedals.
