What does "nobody" have to do with any of it ? YOU should want to improve and find a good job... anyone else's opinion should come second or be ignored completely! YOU are the one who should care most about your life for it is YOURS...
Don't let others keep you from where you want to go...and limit time spent with those who tend to hold you back or have negative attitudes. You have nothing to gain from people like that!
Only YOU can make your life good or bad... Place blame on no one when things go wrong, instead learn from it. Wake up tomorrow and decide to make it a good one as only YOU can!! : )

You don't say what situation you are in at the moment - school, living at home with parents, college, or working - so it's hard to answer your question. However, it's tempting to say that ultimately you are the one who must take responsibility for your own life.
