Yes. Why wouldn't you need to major in Linguistics? Also take some courses like political science, geography, sociology, things like that as there would be travel and other cultures involved.

Even if you don't want to go there, you can call one of the professors and talk to them about the field of translation. I have a fiend that went through the Master's program there and is doing quite well working for herself now.

Ideally, you would major in the foreign language you would be translating.

Major in Languagues and add to your schedule international relashions courses. That will put u ahead from others when it comes to job hunting and better pay
