If you are a person who disapproves of “capital punishment” or if you have mixed feelings about it (such as myself) then that is all right. My question stems on the fact that say there ALREADY WAS a crime that automatically resulted in the offender getting the death penalty – no community service, no fines, and no jail time - just an automatic death sentence. What crime, (in your opinion) would that be that resulted in this ultimate punishment?

Would it be rape, grand larceny, murder, burglary, what? These are sadly just a few of the seemingly endless crimes people can commit- but if you feel it is not one of these, then tell me which one you do think it should be think. Why? *Remember... it can only be 1 crime.*

Murder, rape, child molestation, animal abuse, crimes against the elderly.

Personally I think they should kill purse snatchers too, but I won't hold my hopes out for that. Not with all the apologist wüssies out there.

I believe rape, torture, indecency, or murder of a child should dictate the death penalty.

I also believe any unwarranted murder against those that protect us should be given the death penalty.

Last but not least, anyone that commits murder while committing any act of terror should be given the death penalty.

As an after thought, I also believe that if any of these acts are caught on tape and witnessed by more that one person, their should be no appeal to the death verdict on technicalities. I also believe that the insanity plea should not be admissible when these crimes have been committed.

No, there is no crime i can think of that would warrant a death sentence.

1) Although a person is convicted, nothing is ever 100% for sure.
2) Why choose an easy option by letting this 'convicted' person die whilst the victim's family lives in pain.

Most crimes can be prevented from happening again by using skills to educate 'convicts' on the right path in life, whats right and whats wrong.

No. We should not become like the people we are victim to. A more useful approach would be imprisoning them with a view to studying and trying to understanding the motives and causes to prevent future, similar crimes.

A mass murderer who shows no remorse is likely to be criminally insane. But, are we to turn murderers to rid ourselves of murderers? The example that sets to others is that if you do not agree with certain behaviours then it is justified to turn killer. That is God’s prerogative not ours.

Keep in mind that many people who cannot afford decent legal representation do not get fair trials. And, keep in mind that many people who’ve been executed have been proved innocent after the event.

It is not fair! Message is very clear that the President office is not interested in such petitions. It really doesn't matter, criminals got such sentences for valid reason and I am going to be like the presidents office (not to worry much).

Hate crimes? What a bogus term! Are there any love crimes?

Anyway, murder in the first degree would be the only crime I would consider for an automatic death sentence. That requires a cold intent to commit the crime.

If any local, state, or federal elected official knowingly and intentionally lies or steals or uses tax money for personal gain or to advance the financial condition of a friend or relative, they should be killed by torture.

Murder, it is unforgivable unless in self defence. Rape should be 25 years to life, maybe even death depending on the damage.

rape of a baby or child...not saying rape is ok but I think when its a baby or a child that is so young that it can't defind itself that person needs to be gone from this earth we live in. I don't believe in playing GOD I don't agree nor disagree with death penalty
