I need help coming up with an essay of 300 words or more about the character Abel Magwich from Great Expectations. It needs information such as what was his major role as that character was, how did he help Pipp, etc.

Thank you for taking the time in reading this.

First thing-You read the book, right?
Sorry, just had to check.

I had to read that book last year. Magwich obviously helped Pip by giving him the money to help him raise his social status. It really seems like Magwich hurt Pip more than he helped him. Magwith deffinatly had the best intentions for Pip, but Pip turned our to be a big snob, and lost his friendly personality that he showed when he helped Magwich in the beginning of the book.

I think that Pip helped Magwich more than Magwich helped Pip, due to the fact that Pip gave Magwich happiness. This is obvious when Magwich talks to Pip.

Pip, however, would have been better off without Magwich.

Hope this helps! E-Mail me if you need more help, but I do not claim to be an expert on this book.

me, being a high school senior myself, if i were you, i'd make a venn diagram; on the left side write: WHAT MAJOR PART DID ABEL PLAY IN THE STORY? (use examples); on the right side write: IN WHAT MAJOR WAY(S) DID ABEL HELP PIP? (once again, use examples); and in the middle, write: IN WHAT ELEMENTAL WAY(S) DID ABEL AND PIP HELP EACHOTHER? (use examples once again).

compile all of this info until you have enough to make a brainstorming chart answering the following questions: who, what, when, where, why, and last but DEFINATELY not least, how......

after that, you are ready to write your rough draft....
then, after that, proof read it yourself, find corrections, and fix them....
next, have someone else read it, like an english teacher (not yours of course) reread it, and have them look for more errors....
finally, when it has been edited, then you can type it!!!! just in case you are not confident that all errors have been found, be sure to use spell check, as well as grammar check!!!! or, if you don't want to type it, handwrite it as NEATLY AS POSSIBLE and always remember to use BLUE OR BLACK ink!!

good luck!!! :-)

What you want me to do type up your essay? what you like? bold, margin etc. Hey do it yourself while your at it Look up this word: "plagiarism."

2. Then look up the academic consequences of committing plagiarism.

3. Then forget about getting admitted to a good college or grad school or law school, and forget about getting a good job. Plagiarism on your record is a deal-killer.

4. Now, go do your own research. Use Yahoo or Google to find helpful material, and then put it in your own words

This was a good book. You can always go to sparknotes
http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/greatex/context.html and check out what they have written.
However every teacher knows about this site also, so don't plagiarize. Good Luck!

Read the book, my dear. I did...and I don't recall that name, but it doesn't mean it wasn't there. Now Mrs Haversham and her ward ( if I have the right Dickens book) they are worth remembering.

The best help you can get is reading the novel for yourself. It is a great book, enjoy.
